I started engraving text on oil pastel a few years ago when creating the film and art book project to forget (2017-2019), working on the similarities and differences of forgetting and remembering. I add one oil pastel layer to another and then use the created palimpsest like structure to engrave another layer into it. pink yellow turquoise are the most recent texts on oil and stand for the in betweens of RGB. With them I speak about the spiral, the blurry, the ocean, the hidden and the unknown.

pink

Hypnotizing, forgetting, losing, disappearing, perceiving, and sensing. Spiral, the infinite. Neither past nor present nor future. It renews, changes, grows, shifts the horizon, and enables to feel like something else. Depth beyond time, body and imagination.

yellow

Blurry through fog, distortion, and shadow. The image fades away. Neither beginning nor end, it is changing, flowing, and washed ashore. An ocean of moving images, scattered reflections and spirals in the depths and surfaces of outer space.

turquoise

The ocean, an endlessly large and genderless being, that heavily and noisily breathes in and out, continuously drawing and blaring out its waves. A kind of membrane, that is opaque and porous, transparent and arcane, deep and shallow.
